Reporting to the Director Development Services, the Manager Merit assessments will be a key member of an integrated leadership group, responsible for leading and developing a strong and cohesive Development Assessment Unit. The Manager will ensure the effective management, processing and determination of development applications within the ACT, meeting legislative requirements and performance expectations, in a dynamic environment focussed on excellent customer service and quality outcomes.

Candidates must have well developed leadership and coaching skills with a proven history of delivering high performance through teams, meeting organisational goals. This experience may have been gained in planning and development at a Local, State or Federal Government level or related fields such as environment, health and building or urban design. Strong skills in communication, negotiation and stakeholder management are required, ideally supported by relevant tertiary qualifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
